SUSTAINABILITY

SOCIAL

Supporting local jobs and prosperity

We actively seek out opportunities to engage suppliers that are local to where we are engaged.

Engaging social benefit suppliers

We consider buying from social benefit suppliers on a sliding value scale.

We also take a flexible approach to using open lists of verified social benefit suppliers on an engagement location and capacity-dependent basis.

Focusing on jobseekers

We are passionate about supporting workforce re-entry for parents of young children. Where possible, we seek to work with like-minded people and services to help harness and grow hibernating or under-utilised skills, rebuild confidence, and relaunch careers.

ENVIRONMENT

Making greener choices

Where appropriate, we encourage and prefer choosing:

  • Public transport
  • Physical commuting
  • Carbon offset for air travel
  • Use of less paper
  • Environment-friendly products
  • Recycle, re-use, reduce ethos.

Avoiding unnecessary consumption

We take a practical approach in our everyday work, including:

  • Shutting down PCs at day's end
  • Switching off standby
  • Turning off lights
  • Using LED lighting
  • Being cooling/heating efficient
  • Using assets to end of useful life
  • Buying when we need to.

Working with suppliers

We seek to purchase from suppliers who adopt environmentally responsible practices.

We make our environmental values known to them and use ongoing relationship management with them to identify and address a range of risks or issues, including matters related to environmental sustainability.
